Other WAVP owners included the Histed Media Group () and, in 2001, Anscombe Broadcasting Group Ltd. (Steven G. Reszka, president). Odyssey Broadcasting (Michael Cardillo, president) acquired WAVP in 2006 and pulled the plug on the gospel programming, opting instead to program an adult standards format with new calls – WFHT (Florida’s HoT 1390).

In 2020, Walco Enterprises LLC acquired WFHT, flipped the call letters back to WAVP, and joined the company's other Florida properties in Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Bushnell under the Boss Hogg Radio format.
