WBCC History |
|
The student-run college station is a ''carrier current facility" which transmits a signal to a small defined area and is well suited for reaching a high-density, special interest audience such as the college campus. Carrier current stations provide listener quality reception equal to that of any conventional AM radio station. The Federal Communications Commission does not regulate these stations and commercial advertising is accepted. WBCC operates seven days a week, from Monday to Sunday from 6:00 AM until Midnight during the academic year. The station is managed and operated by students at Bethune-Cookman University. WBCC is located on the second floor of the Parlin Student Center on the campus. | |
WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 1992 Orlando Sentinel Congratulations to Bethune-Cookman College students in Daytona Beach who operate WBCC-AM (830), which has been named Station of the Year by the National Association of Black College Broadcasters. |
