History of WVFP
In 2002, an application for a low power (1,000 watt) FM license was initiated with the government.  In 2006 the FCC granted three non-profit organizations permission to begin broadcasting on the 94.7 FM band.  The three entities include Faith Presbyterian Church Of Gainesville, another evangelical church and a secular entity called “Civic Media.”   Each of the three organizations agreed to a broadcast schedule with Faith Presbyterian’s time slots.
