In 1991 Marion Community Radio, owners of WHIJ-FM 88.1, Ocala received a construction permit for a new translator to serve Leesburg, Eustis, Tavares and Mount Dora. In 1997 Central Florida Educational Foundation purchased the translator. Originally  Central Florida Educational Foundation programmed the station as "The Rock" playing Christian Rock. In 2014 they moved "The Rock" to 103.7.
