WHOF History
1986-The station was put on the air by Keith Walker and his wife Catherine Mary Walker.

1987-Jim Patrick moved to Lake County in 1982 after selling his coal mining companies in eastern Kentucky. He retired for three years before investing in broadcasting.  The station, which is licensed to Wildwood had its studio in Leesburg  The station broadcast 24 hours a day with 1,000 watts of power. It operated under the call letters WMZY in the summer of 1988 because of the station's proposed sale. The letters WHOF were brought back when the sale was dropped. Patrick's first radio experience was with two Leesburg partners, Gene Smith and Dr. Larry Lammers, who owned WHOF-AM 1320. Patrick bought out his partners in March and switched the dial setting to 640 AM .

1988-The station, which is licensed to Wildwood and had its studio in Leesburg, replaced a middle-of-the-road format with a religious one. The station operated under the call letters WMZY in the summer of 1988 pending the station's proposed sale. The letters WHOF were brought back when the sale was dropped.
