Welcome to "The Boulevard" 1-1-14 After 15 years as one of Ocala’s Contemporary Christian Music stations, WKSG-FM 89.5, known as Daystar Radio 89.5, has flipped formats New Year’s Day to a carefully researched and blended mix of big band, smooth jazz and select AAA (Adult Album Alternative) music now calling itself "The Boulevard". Nationally recognized radio consultant, and Ocala native, Mark Tillery, of J. M. Tillery & Associates, P. A., has been retained to implement the new Boulevard, heard on 89.5 FM. "There is a major void for this type format," says Tillery, "and one word describes the new format – Class." The new Boulevard can be heard over the air at 89.5 FM and online at www.boulevardfm.com and features Don Bruce, mornings 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by Gene Martin heard from 10:00 AM till Noon weekdays playing timeless big bands. At noon more contemporary and smooth jazz is blended into the mix for the rest of the day. At night Nightlife comes to life with a slighter more progressive jazz edge. |

The sale includes the broadcast tower and the 14.45 acres on which the tower sits in Silver Springs. New programming is scheduled to begin on Feb. 1. The call letters will be WMFV-aligned with the WMFE brand, with the “V” as a nod to the new station’s focus on The Villages, Leesburg, the Golden Triangle and other surrounding communities. The Federal Communications Commission recognized the completed deal on Jan. 5.The price for everything was $885,000. They have requested Silent STA since it has been silent due to antenna problems.
