Mike
Tuck graduated from the University of Central Florida with a broadcasting
degree. Mike worked as an intern in the Orlando Magic
Broadcast Department after school. Since 2001 he has worked in the Orlando market for WFLF-AM
540 and WQTM-AM 740 before arriving at
WHOO-AM
1080 "ESPN1080
The Team". He worked as a
host and co-host during afternoon and evening drives in his previous stops. In addition he was a host on the popular Prep Post-Game Show
covering Central Florida High School Football for six years. Mike
also has spent time as a writer for the popular basketball website Hoopshype.com
and worked for numerous sites on coverage of the NFL, and specifically the NFL
Draft. Mike Tuck is thrilled to be
part of the team at ESPN Radio, teaming up with old friends Jerry
O’Neill and Brian Fritz.
Mike is a huge Dolphins and Hurricanes football fan. His favorite basketball teams are the LA Lakers and Duke
Blue Devils. He is a LA
Dodgers baseball fan. To explain the
out of town teams, growing up in South Florida there were no local basketball
and baseball teams, so he loved watching the flash, style, and joy Magic
Johnson played with, so he became a Lakers fan, and in his little mind, the
LA-LA thing made sense, so he chose the Dodgers to cheer for.
Tuck chose Duke because he wanted to be a Cameron Crazy.
He grew up with Dan Marino and Magic as his favorite
athletes ever. As passionate as Mike is
about his teams, he is equally interested in following the NFL, NBA, MLB NCAA
Football and Basketball closer than anyone in the business.
