860) in the late 60's, did mid days for about a year around 1967. My air name was
Mike Green. In 1968, Bob Norris asked me to do
"WKKO Contemporary News", a floating heavily produced newscast that we were experimenting with. When I came to
WKKO the air staff was: Melvin-John Foley 6-10am Foley was also the PD, myself--as Mike Green, 10am-2pm,
Bill Eckerd 2 to 6pm, Clark Ray 6pm to sign off and weekends. Simon T was also doing weekends at that time at
WKKO. Eckerd, Simon T and I were all products of WWKE,
"Key Radio" in Ocala. Prior to Foley programming WKKO, the line up was:
Mickey Martin doing morning drive, "Spinner" Bob Rado doing middays,
Tom Tyler doing PM drive and was the PD. When Foley took over programming KO, he put the Drake format of short jingles etc. on the station. At one time we had a play list of 10 current hits... I also worked at
WMFJ(-AM 1450) in Daytona Beach, in mid 60's was copywriter/production guy and did a Sunday night air shift for about a year..."

Pittsfield Mass. Came back to Florida in (the) early 70's... was General Sales
Manager for WQSR(-FM 102.7)
"Quad 102½" in Tampa/Sarasota. Managed WWZZ(-AM) 1280 in Sarasota... went to Charlotte NC and
WSOC-FM
(103.7), came back to Florida in 1990 to manage WSPB(-AM) 1450 in Sarasota, returned
to Ocala to WMFQ(-FM 92.9) and WOCA(-AM
1370) as General Sales Manger.
In 1994 I joined WMFE TV 24 and
(WMFE-FM) 90.7 FM working my way up to Director of
Marketing. In 2000, went to WEDU-TV 3 - PBS in Tampa as head of Corporate Support.
Returned to Central Florida at WMEL 920 AM in Melbourne, becoming General
Manager with the move from 920 to WMEL-AM 1300 in Cocoa.
In 2010 Paul joined Tropic
Wave Multi Media, which is home of Tropic
Wave
Radio and the Highway to Health
Network,
among others.
