WFLF-AM 540 Switching Networks     4-03-06
The Clear Channel-owned talk station will be switching networks, moving from its current network affiliation with CBS, to become a Fox Network affiliate effective Aug. 1. General Manager Tom Benson says the switch will put the station more in line with its listeners. No local programming changes are expected.

Jim Philips Takes To The TV Airwaves    4-20-06
WESH-Channel 2's 6 p.m. newscast will give WTKS-FM 104.1's Jim Philips his commentary debut  around 5:55 tonight. Tonight's subject: Confederate license plates. The Philips Phile is the top-rated afternoon show. 

Genesis Adds McGrath and Promotes James   
Genesis Communications, Inc is pleased to announce the addition of Kelley McGrath to its Broadcast Management Team. Kelley will join Genesis as Executive VP and will operate out of the Orlando office. He brings 20 years of radio management experience with group owners such as Cumulus Media and Connoisseur Communications. His most recent employment was as Market Manager for Randa broadcasting's Fort Myers-Naples cluster of 4 stations.
Brad James has been elevated to Senior VP Of Programming and Marketing. Brad will operate from the Tampa office.
Genesis Communications, Inc owns and operates radio stations in Florida. WWBA-AM 1040/WHBO-AM 1470 In Tampa, WHOO-AM 1080/WAMT-AM 1190  in Orlando and WIXC-AM 1060 in Melbourne.

WNTF-AM 1580 is running the Spanish format as "Latina 1580AM". Rumor has it, the lease on "Que Buena 1680AM",  WLAA-AM 1680 Winter Garden/ Orlando LMA with the Spanish programmers is in jeopardy. Also, WTIR-AM 1300 Cocoa Beach, FL has gone back to a Spanish format, dropping the Traveler Information Radio Network! Where's TIRN going to move to? You guessed it! Gore-Overgaard Broadcasting owners of WROD-AM 1340, is purchasing WSBB-AM 1230 from TK Radio (Brian Tolby) pending FCC Approval.
