Interestingly, 95.3 was originally assigned to Sanford although that frequency never went on the air as a Sanford station. The Moffit family filed a petition to move the frequency assignment in 1968 from Sanford to Apopka to become WTLN-FM. It remained an Apopka station until Cox Radio acquired and moved it to downtown Orlando with a change of location to Maitland a few years ago.

"One of my fondest radio memories from the early 1970s isn't documented on the site.  No mention is made on the WTLN-FM page about the period in which, for at least part of each day, it programmed R&B/Soul/Motown music with jocks like Afro Daddy, Daddy Cool and Bob LaFrance. To this day, I think they had one of the hippest play lists and highly-produced, Top 40, over-the-top approaches to "black music."  It's too bad this bit of Orlando-area radio history has vanished."
