XL 106.7 Raises over $204,000 for Hurricane Relief      9-1-05

WXXL-FM 106.7's morning show, The Doc and Johnny Show recently held two live broadcasts at Orlando-area malls, collecting donations for the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Efforts. During the four-hour broadcast, over $102,000 was raised. Lowe's Home Improvement matched the donations, bringing the total to over $204,000. Salem Communications To Acquire  WORL      9-12-05

Salem Communications Corporation announced that it will acquire WORL-AM 660, Orlando, from James Crystal Florida, Inc., in exchange for Salem's KNIT-AM 1480, Dallas. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2006. In a press release Edward G. Atsinger III, president and CEO of Salem Communications, commented, "This exchange allows Salem to enter the growing Orlando market, the 36th largest in the country in terms of population but 23rd in advertising dollars spent. In addition, since 1994, Orlando has been the country's second fastest growing market in terms of employment growth. This fits Salem's strategy of growing our station portfolio in the nation's top markets."


Michael W. Lowe On The Mend    9-16-05
Michael W. Lowe, morning show co-host and program director at WLRQ-FM 99.3, underwent heart bypass surgery recently and is recuperating.
