WNDB History
Root Communications launched the FM sister to its nearly 50-year-old AM station, WNDB-AM 1150, in October of 1995. WNDB-AM 1150 signed on Don Imus in September, in preparation for the launch of 95.7 FM. WNDB-FM would be targeting to the 25 to 54 demographic group. Root was hoping to broadcast the Rush Limbaugh Show live, but WDBO-AM 580 asked Limbaugh's syndicator not to allow it, because 95.7 FM overlapped into WDBO's exclusive territory. WDBO carried Limbaugh, its most popular show, on a one-hour delayed basis. WNDB-AM 1150 airs Limbaugh in real time, from Noon to 3PM weekdays. Other programs included psychologist Dr. Laura Schlessinger, then Blanquita Cullom out of Washington, followed by Daytona Beach talk show host Marc Bernier, who also is simulcast on the AM station.
