John Summers    Biography

WBJW    WMMO    WOCL   WSBH    WXJZ

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa, Started playing the guitar at age 11, and still do. Got my first taste of big time radio at B-94 Pittsburgh, there was no turning back. (lol) Started at BJ-105 (WBJW-FM 105.1) in February of 1986. The three years I spent there were the most fun of my career. I mean, my first personal appearance was judging a Hawaiian Tropic tanning/bikini contest in Cocoa Beach!  ;)  I left to be PD at Steve Kingston's station in Charleston, West Virginia. After about two years. I came back to Orlando and was the first PM Drive guy at WMMO(-FM 98.9). In 1993, I was picked up by Scott Sherwood at the old 'COOL 105.9' (WOCL-FM 105.9), where I was a part-timer until 1995, when I got the gig of my life at the legendary 98.7 KLUV, Dallas/Ft/ Worth. I'm still here, part-time now due to budget cuts in '09. I also work full time for Dial Global radio networks doing afternoons on about 35 stations around the country. I can be heard every afternoon on Ray Michaels'  "98.5, The Beach" (WSBH-FM 98.5) in Brevard County. I miss Florida, but life is good!! I love being outdoors and still bicycle regularly. A couple of years ago, I even ran a half marathon.
