Earthday Birthday Rescheduled 5-16-21
iHeartMedia has announced WJRR-FM 101.1 has rescheduled "Earthday Birthday Number 27 Music Festival" on Sat., Oct. 9. Acts will include performances from Shinedown, Bush, Candlebox, 10 Years, Dirty Honey, Fozzy and Zero 9:36. The festival will feature multiple live music stages including the The Colours Couture Tattoo and Competition Stage, The Mel’s Bad Girls Club Art Walk and Charity Row, which will include local artists and support Central Florida charities, as well as the Earthday Birthday Number 27 Vendor Village.
Jay Barbree Passes 5-15-21
Jay Barbree was the only journalist to have covered every non-commercial human space mission in the United States, beginning with the first American in space, Alan Shepard reedom 7 in 1961, through to the last mission of the Space Shuttle in July 2011. He was present for all 135 Space Shuttle launches, and every manned launch for the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo eras. In all, he witnessed 166 human space launches. In 1958, Barbree was hired by radio station WEZY-AM 1480 in Cocoa Beach, and worked as News Director/traffic reporter, covering the space program as well as hosting "Mobile Mic" . He was 87.
