WXXL DJ Left Off The Red Carpet   6-11-06
According to Carol Alfonso, WXXL-FM 106.7 DJ Alex Diaz, was allowed to watch the American Idol's Season Finale rehearsals and he was audio taping the rehearsals, but FOX TV policy does not allow the taping of material that they consider copyrighted. It turns out that Alex Diaz, played back a segment of "Idol" with winner Taylor Hicks and runner up Katharine McPhee dancing to one of the songs of the show, during the rehearsal. Diaz aired his tape during the Doc & Johnny Morning Show. During the "Red Carpet" event,  Diaz was confronted by FOX Network executives, who were aware of the airing of the material and they told Diaz to surrender his credentials for the show's "Red Carpet" and the after show parties.

Clear Channel Fined    6-21-06
WRUM-FM 100.3 did the standard 100th caller-wins a $1,000 prize. One problem. The phone numbers they gave out were for rival WNUE-FM 98.1 , owned by Mega Communications. WNUE says they were flooded with calls and they filed a complaint with the FCC four days later. Clear Channel says their morning hosts disclosed that it was a prank near the end of their show. The FCC fine still stands and orders Clear Channel to pay a $6,000 fine for violating its contest rules.
