WMFE History WMFE signed on July 24, 1980. The original format was a mix of public radio news/talk, jazz, classical music and Old Time Radio programs. Jazz was dropped in 1983. At the time, Orlando was the largest city in the United States with no full-time Public Radio service and only had a part-time affiliation with WFTU-FM 89.9 until 1978. |
