Drew got his big break in 1993, when the
WTKS-FM 104.1 Program Director heard Drew's college radio show on
WPRK-FM 91.5 and thought Drew had a future in broadcasting. Drew worked part-time, doing weekends from 7PM to midnight and working a full time job as Assistant Food and Beverage Director at the
Holiday Inn Orlando Airport.
The opportunity came along as producer for Ed Tyll, then midday host at
WTKS. Drew began sitting in on the "Philips Phile" along with Ms. B and
Moira,
and
adding his impersonations and comedy. Not long after, he became the producer for the
Philips Phile. Jim went to bat for Drew, and he got his own show doing overnights. For a year and a half, Drew handled duties from midnight to 6AM, garnering a 20-share. With the departure of
Ed Tyll, Drew took over
the 7PM slot.
Along with Tuddle and Melanie, Drew and his crew have broadcast live from Magic games,
Wet 'N Wild, hockey games and many other places around Central Florida. Drew loves his wife Angie, his
son Xander. Drew left WTKS in January of 2005 after 11 years with the company. Drew has joined the staff at WOCL-FM 105.9 and is now co-host of "The Morning After Show".
1-4-2008 Drew and the rest of
the staff at WOCL-FM 105.9 were let go as CBS Radio flipped the
format.
9-19-08 Drew currently works as a ticket account executive with the
Orlando
Magic. He continues to reach his fans with a weekly podcast at
drewshow.com with
co-hosts Ryan Valeriano of the podcast: Standup Orlando and the
eccentric Johnny Diggs of Howl
at the Moon in downtown Orlando. He continues to ride the
crest of cutting edge radio now on the internet no longer terrestrial.
