New Owner, New Call Letters     6-6-24
WNDN-FM 107.9 in Chiefland, has been sold. John Elliot of Suncoast Radio is the buyer. The deal included the WNDN tower site but not the call letters. Suncoast Radio also operates Classic Country  WLQH-AM 940/93.1FM and WZCC-AM 1240/96.3FM. The purchase price was $150,000. 

WNDN Becomes WWCQ     6-10-24
Suncoast Radio has launched WWCQ-FM 107.9  "Classic Rock 107.9" on June 1. The first week was commercial free and a listener will win $1,079.

SOLD: WFYY and WDYZ     6-14-24
JVC Broadcasting has sold WFYY-FM 103.1, "Florida Man Radio" as well as WDYZ-AM 660/105.5 FM to family owned Norsan Media for $6,000,000. A Time Brokerage Agreement will take place on Monday, June 17.

47 Year Veteran Retires   6-14-24
Marsha Taylor has retired from WDBO-AM 580/107.3 FM after 38 years there. Marsha began her career at WDIZ-FM 100.3  in 1977. In 1980 she joined WMFE-FM 90.7 as reporter/anchor. Then on to WDBO in 1986. Marsha, your presence and voice will be missed.

Phil Hendrie Enters Hall Of Fame      6-18-24
Phil Hendrie, who began his career at WBJW-AM 1440, thanks to his friend Bill Barber, will join the National Radio Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony takes place Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Changes At WDBO    6-26-24
There have been cuts at WDBO-AM580/107.3 FM. News Director/early evening host Joe Kelley who replaced Jim Turner in the mornings in 2012, when he came from KRMG in Tulsa. Another casualty of the cuts at Cox Media Group, is director of branding & programming Keith Memoly who has been with CMG since 2010.

Serrano Has Left The Building     6-27-24
Danny Serrano, morning co-host with Jenn Lopez, has departed WOMX-FM 105.1. Danny joined Mix 105.1 last June.
