Marston informs us that Brantley
Slaughter has passed. Mr. Slaughter's career included a time as Chief
Engineer for WORJ-FM 107.7. From Mr.
Marston's email: "...Brantley
Slaughter passed away on January 6, 2009. What
a great guy! Brantley will be deeply missed. Brantley's
contributions to the community are innumerable as were his acts of kindness to
others. He was involved in local schools, charities, churches, government
and civic improvement causes. Many of us called him fondly the “Oracle
of Orange County” because of his civic activism and desire to help those less
fortunate than himself. We will miss his buoyant wit, keen intellect and huge
heart. Brantley Slaughter lived for others and died at age 78.
