been silent since December 8.
Word is WQBQ-AM 1410 is still on the air. The detailed info is; in
November Rama has filed an
application for a Special Temporary Authority to remain silent due to
transmitter problems, for a period of 60 days or until repairs can be
made to the transmitter.

Named As WIXC GM

Communications, Inc announces the hiring of Kevin
Fennessy as General Manager for WIXC AM
1060 in Melbourne-Titusville. Fennessy, a veteran broadcaster with
management duties from great radio stations, such as WFIL-Philadelphia, WHAM-Rochester
and WKBW-Buffalo.
New Hispanic Program Coming1-7-09 WNZF-AM
1550 / WNZF-FM 106.3will
bring a Hispanic news/talk program to Flagler county beginning January 18. Gustavo
Ramos will host the program called "Buenos Dias Flagler".
Mancow Comes To Central Florida
1-12-09 WAMT-AM
1190 began airing the
syndicated Mancow show this morning from 6AM-9AM. The station also began
carrying the full 3 hour Laura Ingraham show from 9AM-Noon. Other recent
changes include the additions of Roger Hedgecock from 6PM-9PM and The Fox
Radio Network’s Tom Sullivan from Midnight-3AM. WAMT also carries
Bill O’Reilly from Westwood One and The Dave Ramsey Show.

The Team" on WQTM-AM 740.
Currently 740 is programmed as part of the "La Preciosa Network",
which began last January. The new lineup is not set.
Do Over
For Orlando 1-29-09 The
ratings service Arbitron has notified subscribers that three diaries were
attributed to "an unlicensed station." So Arbitron
will reissue the book on Feb. 2.Credit was initially awarded to WHOG-FM
95.7 in the Orlando
book, but it turned out the reported listening was to a pirate station.

Buckethead Saves A Life
1-31-09 WOFL-TV
35 is reporting that WTKS-FM 104.1's Buckethead
(Jason Bailey) helped
save the life of a suicidal man. The anonymous caller told Buckethead he
wasn’t sure if he wanted to kill himself and didn’t know what to do. The
caller dubbed "Bill" was taken to an area hospital and is doing fine.
