Former WHOO-AM 990 Program Director/Morning host Bucks Braun has unexpectedly died in Ohio yesterday. He was 69 years old.

WKSG "The Boulevard" Goes Silent

The new owners, of WKSG-FM 89.5, Community Communications, has closed on the purchase. The sale includes the broadcast tower and the 14.45 acres on which the tower sits in Silver Springs. New programming is scheduled to begin on Feb. 1. The call letters will be WMFV-aligned with the WMFE brand, with the “V” as a nod to the new station’s focus on The Villages, Leesburg, the Golden Triangle and other surrounding communities. The Federal Communications Commission recognized the completed deal on Jan. 5.The price for everything was $885,000. They have requested  Silent STA since it has been silent due to antenna problems. The money comes from proceeds of the 2012 sale of WMFE-TV, formerly Orlando’s PBS station, to the University of Central Florida, as well as major gifts from 90.7 supporters.

Reportedly,  Southern Stone Interested In Purchasing WELE       1-16-18
Yesterday afternoon, Big John on WELE-AM 1380, said during his opening monologue that the owners of WNDB-AM 1150/93.5FM, Southern Stone has offered to purchase WELE. The short answer was no. Southern Stone seems to be interested in the rights to the NFL football broadcast rights.

John Forsythe, morning co-host at WMGF-FM 107.7 has announced he will be retiring from broadcasting after a fifty year career. John joined Leslye Gale on the "The John & Leslye Morning Show" in 2010.
