iHeartMedia has named Hector Marcano General Manager of WRUM-FM 100.3. Hector has also been named Vice President of Hispanic Operations East, effective immediately.

Baseball Playoffs On WDBO-AM     10-2-14
ESPN Orlando 580 (WDBO-AM 580) will be carrying the ESPN coverage of the MLB post season. ALDS: Tigers @ Orioles/ALDS: Royals @ Angels double header will begin today at 5PM, right after Scott Anez. Tomorrow, MLB Division Series play begins at 11:30AM. Saturday the Giants @ Nationals begins at 9PM after FSU Football vs. Wake Forest. On Sunday ALDS Game 3: Angles @ Royals coverage starts at 7:30PM.

Tom O'Brien To Retire     10-2-14
WPCV-FM 97.5 morning host Tom O'Brien is retiring after 19 years at the station. Tom was the morning host for 15 years. For the past 4 years Tom was WPCV's "Community Ambassador". He would visit a different city in the area every weekday. 

WPOZ Is Number 1 Again      10-2-14
In the latest Arbitron PPM ratings WPOZ-FM 88.3 has returned to the number one position. Congrats!

Black Gospel Comes To Orlando     10-10-14
Black Media Works, in Cocoa has launched translator W279CO, "Rejoice 103.7" licensed to Eatonville. The parent station is WRMQ-AM 1140 licensed to Orlando. 

WLZR Asks For Another Delay     10-10-14
Cumulus Media has once again asked the FCC for more time to fix the ground system of the silent station WLZR-AM 1560. The station has suffered vandalism and copper theft on numerous occasions. Last December, Cumulus filed a request to run 250 watts of power instead of the licensed 5,000 watts. Meanwhile they are running the programming on their FM translator on 95.9. Cumulus stated that they are “in the process of developing a cost-effective method of securing the property against future theft.”

Salem To Simulcast "660 The Answer"     10-20-14
Altamonte Springs based WORL-AM 660 will be simulcasting "660 The Answer" on 105.5, licensed to Oviedo with 250 watts. Salem purchased the translator from Radio Assist Ministry for $50,000. 

Magic Pick New Flagship For Spanish Broadcasts    10-21-14
 The Orlando Magic announced WPRD-AM 1440 will be the flagship station for Spanish language broadcasts. Joey Colon will continue to handle play-by-play, pre-game, halftime and post-game analysis.

Frank Scott Joins WNDB    10-21-14
 Frank Scott has joined the "Daytona's Morning News" show on WNDB-AM 1150/95.3-FM.

Mark Logas' Guest Line-up    10-23-14
Mark Logas will be sitting in for Bud Hedinger on Friday on WFLF-AM 540/102.5 FM. Mark's guests include; Jodi Rubin-She is announcing a new preservation group that has been formed to help preserve area historic landmarks. Carol Platt-Republican running against Alan Grayson in FL 9th Congressional District, just endorsed by the Orlando Sentinel in that race. James O'Keefe-I call him the 60 Minutes of the 21st Century. He is the guy who exposed Acorn in 2008, crossed into Mexico dressed as Osama Bin Laden recently to expose how open our borders really are, steered a boat in waters near the U.S. with "Ricin" packages clearly marked and was never stopped, and recently exposed several more Democrat and Republican candidates who are saying one thing on the campaign trail and another thing in private. Mark will also take a look at the Florida and Orange County ballot questions, asking if the 26th Amendment should be repealed and instead create a Citizenship test that people must pass in order to vote.

 Genesis Communications I is proud to debut "The Front Office", hosted by Tom Veit, aka "The GM", weekdays from Noon to 3PM, starting Monday October 27th on "The Team", WHOO-AM 1080. John Leboutillier of Fox News and the host of “Political Insiders” Sunday nights at 7:30PM will be the next guest of WNDB's Marc Bernier Tuesday night October 28th at 7PM. the event will take place in the Gale Lemerand auditorium, in the Willie Miller Instructional Center on Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus, 600 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach. Free and open to the public, doors open at 6PM.

Morning Host Suffers Potentially Deadly Enterovirus     10-27-14
 WDBO-FM 96.5 News Director/morning host Joe Kelley was admitted to the hospital last Friday suffering from Enterovirus D68. The virus causes flu-like symptoms and severe respiratory illness and spreads easily and can be passed through coughs, sneezes and contact with surfaces someone with the virus has touched. Joe hopes to be back home today.

 WPOZ-FM 88.3 has come in at number 1, once again in the latest Arbitron PPM ratings here.
