With Dennis Martinez leaving his position at WOMX-FM 105.1/WQMP-FM 101.9, Assistant Program Director/Music Director Dana Taylor will be interim PD while at WOMX and the PD at WSFS-FM 104.3 in Miami, John O'Connell will handle duties at WQMP. 

WYGC To Flip     3-4-18
The All 80's format on low power WGVR-FM 103.3 will move to full power WYGC-FM 104.9 on Mar 19. Programmer Chris Lash will bring Scott Shannon’s True Oldies Channel to Gainesville's WGVR-FM 103.3.

Marc Bernier and his "Weekend Around The House" on WNDB-AM 1150/93.5 FM will begin the 18th year. On Sunday, Ellis Feaster celebrates his birthday.

WMFV Takes To The Air     3-18-18
The new station WMFV-FM 89.5, sister station to WMFE-FM 90.7, went on the air for the first time on Saturday, March 3. The station, which covers The Villages, Leesburg and The Golden Triangle (Eustis, Mount Dora and Tavares), was officially born in March but is not yet operating at full power. WMFV’s engineer is still working to resolve some transmission issues. WMFV President and General Manager LaFontaine Oliver said; “Our goal is to create a station that will resonate with the community and so we have to be very intentional.” Oliver said they began broadcasting with a soft launch format that includes NPR’s two newsmagazines, Morning Edition and All Things Considered, and classical music. The programming schedule will continue to evolve with feedback that is received.

No Translator For You!      3-19-18
Hispanics United In Broadcasting has been granted the petition to deny adding a translator at 92.7. They operate WRXW-FM 92.7 in Winter Park. The translator was reportedly proposed for the Mexican formatted WLAA-AM 1680.

Chad Pitt Returns     3-21-18
Beginning on April 2, Chad Pitt will return to Central Florida as morning co-host with Leslye Gayle at WMGF-FM 107.7. He's replacing John Forsythe, who is retiring after a career of more that 50-years in radio.

WIGW Becomes Relevant Radio      3-25-18 
On this Rock Communications, Inc., has purchased WIGW-FM 90.3 licensed to Eustis. The station is the newest affiliate of "Relevant Radio-Talk Radio for Catholic Life".

A special afternoon edition of The SpeakER Series at ERAU March 28th at the special time of 5. Doors open at 4PM! Join Marc Bernier for an incredible presentation and discussion of artificial intelligence and transhumanism with Dr. Steve Kraftchick of Emory University, Wednesday March 28th at 5PM. Doors open at 4. We will discuss among many things technology vs. ethics. Marking the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein,” Dr. Kraftchick’s  presentation is followed by an interview and Q&A.  Students  and faculty are encouraged to attend with their questions. This is a Bonus Bucks event.
