Hurricane Coverage       10-6-16
Central Florida radio is covering Hurricane Matthew with wall to wall coverage. WDBO-FM 96.5 is doing their own coverage and simulcasting some of the audio from WFTV channel 9. On WFLF-AM 540/102.5 FM local hosts and Alan Spector is doing coverage along with updates from the Florida News Network. iHeart stations WYGM-AM 740/96.9 FM is simulcasting the WFLF broadcast. WTKS-FM 104.1 is covering with Jim Philips and the "Philips Phile" covered the afternoon, until Shawn Wasson "The News Junkie" takes over from 9PM until midnight. "WMEL-AM 1060" (WIXC-AM 1060) is doing full coverage as well. WHOO-AM 1080 is carrying the audio from Central Florida News 13. The Southern Stone stations; WHOG-FM 95.7, WVYB-FM 103.3, WNDB-AM 1150/93.5 FM and WKRO-FM 93.1 are carrying the audio from WFTV and will begin complete local coverage at 5AM tomorrow morning anchored by WNDB's Dave Laing.

"Beat The Runway Event" Returns        10-12-16  
104.5 The Beat, Orlando’s Hip Hop and R&B radio station, announced the return of its Beat The Runway event, a free music and fashion show featuring live performances by Kayla Brianna, R&B group Glamour and singer and producer Kevin Cossom, plus the latest fashion trends by world-class and local rising star designers. Beat The Runway will take place on Thursday, November 3 at the Orchid Garden in downtown Orlando. 104.5 The Beat’s on-air personalities DJ D Strong, D Royale, Viva La Koi and Young Scholar will host the show. Leading up to the event, 104.5 The Beat will encourage listeners on-air to bring gently used warm clothing to the event for a collection effort that will benefit the Salvation Army.
