Brenda Matthews can be heard in Orlando once again. She will be filling in on WOMX-FM 105.1 for the next three weeks.


Radio Disney Partners With Azteca America

Radio Disney, WDYZ-AM 990 and TV station Azteca America signed a partnership in Central Florida to provide Hispanic entertainment to local residents. The partnership was signed at Azteca America's studio located in Universal Studios Orlando by Azteca America President, Mario Ragazzo and Radio Disney's station manager, Michele Bastone. The Radio Disney and Azteca America partnership is expected to provide a variety of Hispanic programming serving Central Florida's Latin community.

Rusty Humphries' Wife Ami Passes Away

From Mike Murillo. Talk Radio Network syndicated host Rusty Humphries' wife, Ami Kathleen Humphries, has died. She succumbed to a long-term chronic illness and is survived by her husband and their two daughters.

WIXC Will Move From Sports To Classic Country

Effective August 1, WIXC-AM 1060 will become "Classic Country – WIXIE 1060".  Genesis Communications has done an LMA (Local Marketing Agreement) with Whiskey River Broadcasting and they will be taking over the station as of the 1st.  Ted Turner, former PD at WHKR-FM 102.7 with Whiskey River Broadcasting has an extensive background in Country Music and Brevard County.  WHOO-AM 1080 will remain ESPN Sports in Central Florida , now truly being the only 24/7 sports station in the entire area. WAMT-AM 1190  (sister station) has just upgraded the signal to 24 hours with the construction of two new towers and remains the home of Dave Ramsey and Bill O’Reilley.

New Deal Between UCF and Clear Channel

The University of Central Florida and Clear Channel Orlando have come to terms on a new agreement. The UCF Knights football, basketball, baseball  and men’s basketball coach Kirk Speraw’s show will remains on WQTM-AM 740 while UCF football coach George O’Leary will broadcast his show at 7PM Mondays on WFLF-AM 540. Dan Sileo and The Finish Line will broadcast a one-minute Daily Knights Report Monday through Friday.

Beginning Friday August 1, 2008 WFBO-FM 97.7 will begin providing Flagler County with hourly Blizzard News Briefs, featuring local news, sports and Central Florida News 13 weather.

The “world’s largest conference exclusively devoted to radio sales, management and marketing” will convene at Orlando’s new Rosen Shingle Creek Resort on March 16-18 2009.
