The People Power Hour Expands Their Schedule   9-5-08
The People Power Hour, Orlando's foremost progressive local-issues oriented talk radio program, celebrates its first anniversary on WAMT-AM 1190 in part by expanding its schedule – the show will now air Monday through Friday 8pm-9pm, addition to its heritage Saturday 11am – noon timeslot. The new schedule begins Monday, September 15th, 2008.  The program is hosted by George Crossley and Joe Miranda of the National Latino Officers Association and produced/co-hosted by freelance writer and radio veteran John Hamilton. 


Keep Up With High School Football

The Beef O'Bradys High School post game football show with Steve Berrey and Kevin Baldinger airs on  WTLN-AM 950 as well as WNDB-AM 1150. Kevin will also be part of the radio broadcast team during the Championship games at the Citrus Bowl.


Doug Stephen Returns To WMEL

Doug Stephan is back home on WMEL-AM 1300. The 5AM-6AM show is the Talk Radio Countdown which Doug is the host. Doug Stephan's Good Day Show and is airing from 6AM. to 9AM Monday thru Friday.  


Clark Howard To Appear Locally

Consumer advocate Clark Howard, will be appearing at the Maitland Civic Center thanks to WDBO-AM 580 on September 16. Clark is heard on WDBO weekdays from 1-3PM.


Billy Michaels Is On The Move

Billy Michaels of WWKA-FM 92.3 fame is headed to Phoenix and Country KNIX-FM 102.5 for afternoon drive.


"The Coach" Returns

Marc Daniels, known from his days at WQTM-AM 740, as "The Coach" will return to the Orlando airwaves once again. This time with co-host Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel. "The Beat of Sports with Marc Daniels and Mike Bianchi" will air on WAMT-AM 1190 weekdays, beginning Monday, September 15 from 9AM until 11AM.  


Laura Ingraham Joins WAMT Lineup

The syndicated Laura Ingraham Show has been added to the line-up at WAMT-AM 1190. Laura will be heard weekdays from 
9PM-12AM.


Rozzie Franco Joins The Monsters

Rozzie Franco joins the Monsters on WTKS-FM 104.1 as a newscaster. Her reports will air at 7:30AM weekday mornings.

At  WHOG-FM 95.7  Garry Meade "The Mad Swede" moves to afternoons from 2PM-7PM.  John Barrett adds Voice Tracking duties Middays 10AM-2PM. John is also heard on WKRO-FM 93.1 and will also do some work for WNDB-AM 1150


Bobby Mitchell
Celebrates 15 Years At K92FM

On September 23 Bobby Mitchell will celebrate his 15th anniversary at the same station, which is no small feat in the radio business. Bobby joined WWKA-FM 92.3 in 1992.


Let The Bidding Begin

CBS Radio is selling off 50 of its mid-sized radio stations in response to soft local ad markets and a weak economy. Today is kickoff day of the auction for 50 stations owned by CBS. President/CEO Les Moonves said "We don't know what the marketplace is,"..."If we don't get the right pricing for it, we're not going to sell." According to the New York Post, those who received books and expected to bid are: Cumulus MediaEntercom CommunicationsBonneville Broadcasting, Connoisseur Communications and Tribune Co., as well as former radio industry executive Bobby Lawrence and former CBS Radio C.E.O. Joel Hollander. CBS owned stations in Central Florida include WJHM-FM 101.9, WOMX-FM 105.1 and WOCL-FM 105.9.
