The Rush Limbaugh Program has been taken off WNZF-AM 1550/WNZF-FM 106.3 due to a protest by Daytona Beach's WNDB-AM 1150. Salem Names New GM      5-3-11
Salem Communications has appointed Bill Files as General Manager for its three radio stations in Orlando, WORL-AM 660, WBZW-AM 1520 and WTLN-AM 950. Bill brings more than 15 years of market management and sales experience to Salem.

The End Of An Era    5-5-11
Since the  first spring after the Disney's Magic Kingdom's grand opening in 1972, High School Seniors have taken over the theme park for concerts and fun. "Grad Nights" will come to an end with the class of 2011. So what's the CFLRadio connection? Well, WKIS-AM 740's Frank Reed and Larry Shannon did the first all-night Grad Night broadcast from Walt Disney World. (Check out the hair on Frank Reed.)

WWKA-FM 92.3 veteran Bobby Mitchell celebrates his birthday on Monday, the 9th. WHNR-AM 1360's Von Rommell Fernandes celebrates on May 10 along with WMFQ-FM 92.9 PD Bill Barr and Rick Brady and Jeff Lemlich blow out the candles on Wednesday. Happy Birthday, fellows!


Bob Nyles Moves To WEUS; Ed Tyll Moves Back To Orlando    5-8-11
From Bob Nyles: "In late 2010 a new Program director decided to replace me as Bud Hedinger's Producer for almost 7 years on 540 WFLA (WFLF-AM 540). For several months I searched until an opportunity opened up at 10,000 watt- The Big 810-WEUS-Orlando's Real Talk (WEUS-AM 810) as Producer for talker Ed Tyll. Ed has been doing his show out of New York but has now relocated to Orlando to be here in-studio every weekday from noon til 3 pm."

WKFL-AM 1170, Bushnell, has been sold at a foreclosure sale to the mortgage holder Scott Walker.  


Jayde To Leave Johnny    5-12-11
WXXL-FM 106.7 Program Director, Michael Bryan has told All Access that morning co-host Jayde will be leaving. "She's off to chase her dreams as her deal expires in June. We wish her nothing but the best. She's got major skills and it was a great partnership over the last 4 years. I look forward to seeing her stand out in her next major role, whether it be in radio or TV. She'll own it." All Access is also reporting they are looking to replace her.

Follow Up On Jayde    5-20-11
Jayde Donovan has gotten employment rather quickly. She was introduced on "Access Hollywood"  last night. She joins Billy Bush on the syndicated entertainment show.

5-16-11  Jayde Donovan, morning co-host on WXXL-FM 106.7 is off to California, since she and Clear Channel failed to come to terms on a new contract. Jayde, came to Florida after a stint at a Sacramento radio station. Read more here.

Opening arguments are expected to be heard Tuesday morning at 9AM. WDBO-AM 580 will cover them live without commercial interruption.

Clark Howard Coming To WELE    5-24-11
Dial Global has announced that "The Clark Howard Show" will be picked up by WELE-AM 1380, Ormond Beach. The consumer Warrior will be heard weekdays and weekends.

Alan Baxter of "Baxter and Mark" fame has posted the latest episode of The Baxter and Mark Chronicles. Alan takes you through the history of the duo's trip through radio. It's a great read.


WEUS Tweaks Program Line-up     5-31-11
The "Big 810 AM", WEUS-AM 810 has made a few tweaks to their program schedule. Ed Tyll now follows Mancow in the morning from 10AM-Noon; Alex Jones, Noon-3PM; Shannon Burke, 2PM-7PM and Laura Ingraham takes over the 7PM-10PM timeslot.
