Dave Laing
Injured In 2 Car Accident     2-4-08
WNDB-AM 1150 morning co-host of "Wake Up Daytona" Dave Laing was injured after a head on collision over the weekend in Daytona Beach. More details soon.
Thanks to Mark "Mr. News" Williams for the following details on Dave's accident.
"Dave was southbound and was stopped for a Daytona Beach fire truck. Northbound was also stopped... but someone failed to tell the driver of a large work van. It flew across the median and smacked his Ford Bronco head-on. In a conversation with him Friday afternoon, Dave said he was wearing his seatbelt. The  airbag deployed, but the impact forced his right leg into the bottom of the dashboard. Daytona Beach Fire-Rescue had to cut him out of the wreckage. That took about 20 minutes to complete. He was placed on a backboard and his head-neck immobilized and taken to Halifax Medical Center. Dave will undergo surgery Tuesday morning for a broken right leg below the kneecap. As of today (Monday) he was resting at home and pretty much on "happy pills."  Cards can be sent to Dave Laing/WNDB Radio, 115 N. Palmetto Ave, Daytona Beach, Fl. 32114.
