The Rollett Report     3-4-14
On Wednesday, March 5th, Best-selling author and marketing expert Greg Rollett, CEO of Celebrity Expert Marketing, will launch his brand new radio show, The Rollett Report. The show, aimed at small business owners and entrepreneurs, will air every Wednesday from 6PM-7PM on WFLF-AM 540/102.5 FM  immediately following the Dave Ramsey Show.


WNDB Adds FM Translator      3-6-14
Southern Stone Stone Communications, owners of WNDB-AM 1150 has purchased W228CT, Daytona Beach from Cornerstone Community Radio, Inc . for $18,000.  The translator will rebroadcast the WNDB signal.

Morning Co-host Leaving K92     3-8-14
Half of the morning team of AJ and Ashley at WWKA-FM 92.3 will be leaving the station at the end of March. Ashley Figueroa will be moving to Nashville,  to follow her dream to live in Nashville and be closer to her family. Program Director JR Schumann is looking for Ashley's replacement.

Amp Radio Gets New Morning Host     3-8-14
Dustin Kross has been named the new Assistant Program Director/Morning Show Host at WJHM-FM 101.9 "AMP Radio.” He comes in from Jacksonville's “RadioNow 97.9.” This is not the first trip to Orlando for Dustin. He has also worked at WOCL-FM 105.9.

Celebrants this week include; On Monday, Kevin Fennessy, who is now the Senior Account Executive at  WFOY FM/AM, and WAOC FM/AM in St. Augustine. On Tuesday, a good friend of this site, Don Gould blows out the candles. Happy birthday to you both.

Congrats To The Monsters           3-11-14
TALKERS magazine puts out their list of  "The 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts in America" each year. Locally, Russ Rollins and The Monsters at WTKS-FM 104.1 have made the list again this year.  

"Girls with Guitars" Coming To Ocala     3-12-14
WTRS-FM 102.3 is bringing a free, acoustic concert to town called "Girls with Guitars" featuring country artists Jamie Lynn SpearsKatie Armiger and Jordan Anderson. "Girls with Guitars" will be held at the historic Marion Theatre in Downtown Ocala on Wednesday April 16th, 2014 at 8PM.

Len Weiner On The Move     3-20-14
Genesis Communications I Vice President of programming Len Weiner has been named Program Director at Sports Talk WAXY-AM 790/FM 104.3 in Miami. Len oversaw Central Florida stations WIXC-AM 1060, WHOO-AM 1080 and WAMT-AM 1190 since 2011. 


New Ocala Station      3-22-14
WGMA-FM 99.7 has taken to the air in the Ocala area. The station owned by Ricardo Arroyo's RDA Broadcast Holdings, LLC plays adult standards from Westwood One.. The General Manager of the station is O.K. Walters who left WLBE-AM 790 earlier this year.

Happy Birthday!     3-22-14
Celebrating on Sunday will be; WFIT-FM 89.5's Jeanne Kelly and former WDBO-AM 580 veteran, Mark Hellinger. On Monday, a member of the
Georgia Radio Hall Of Fame, Dennis Winslow will blow out the candles. Happy birthday to all of you!

Nick Cannon Coming To Ocala      3-27-14
“America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon is heading to Ocala on April 16 as part of a tour promoting his “White People Party Music” album. JVC Media of Florida is working with Cannon to help raise money for the Ocala-based Interfaith Emergency Services. WMFQ-FM 92.9  is promoting the contest in which the local school that collects the most non-perishable donations will be honored with Nick Cannon as its "principal” for the day. Cannon will do the morning announcements, meet students, sign autographs, and play an exclusive music set for the winning high school.  

Schumann To Leave K92       3-28-14
J.R. Schumann, the program director/afternoon personality at WWKA-FM 92.3, will be leaving the station today, Mar 28. J.R. is headed to Dallas. Operations Manager Stevie DeMann and Jeff Garrison will program the station until a replacement is hired.  

More Changes At K92     3-29-14
Midday host "Dakota" (Ashley Stegbauer) will be doing double duty beginning Monday, March 31. According to Operations Manager Stevie DeMann, Dakota, midday personality, will be moving to mornings and working with AJ Maguire. She will replace Ashley Figueroa will be moving to Nashville. According to DeMann, “The reason the name Dakota came about on K92 was because we already had an Ashley (Figueroa). This move also allows us to carry on a Superbrand within our Superbrand – The "AJ & Ashley" brand. AJ and Ashley (Dakota) will have some light-hearted fun on-air with this next week to make the audience aware and then we will be off and running!” The new Ashley (Dakota) will continue working middays after her morning shift until a replacement can hired.

Bowers Comes To Mornings     3-31-14
JVC Media, one of the leading independent and locally owned radio broadcasters dedicated to bringing live and local back to radio, announces the addition of market vet Wolf Bowers to mornings on "104.9 WOW FM", (WYGC-FM 104.9).  Wolf Bowers is a radio legend with over 30 years of experience in markets from Tampa to Lincoln, NE.  Wolf is an icon in North Central Florida, most notably holding down multiple dayparts on "102.3 My Country FM (WTRS-FM 102.3) for nearly two decades. Bowers will begin live on the air on Tuesday April 1st and adds, “I am so excited to join the team at 104.9 WOW FM and JVC Media to help launch the most exciting station ever in North Central Florida!  I get to play all of my personal favorite songs… get ready for a morning show that plays great music, has a ton of fun and does radio the old way, for the listeners”. He'll also host weekends on co-owned Country WTRS-FM.
