As part of his 10 year anniversary, Doug Clifford will rebroadcast his recent 35 minute interview with Jesse Ventura on his N.Y. Times best seller “American Conspiracies" on WSKY-FM 97.3. Saturday May 1st. You can hear Doug and Jesse at 5:20AM and 11:20PM (the entire show airs  5AM-6AM and 11PM-Midnight)

Walter D. Kimble
Passes   5-3-10
Walter Kimble, who began his full-time musical career on WDBO-AM 580 radio, died on Wednesday, April, 21, 2010. He was 97. Walter, an accomplished organist, performed 15-minute organ recitals in the early days of WDBO.

Pirate Fined $10,000    5-3-10
Balthazard Senat has been fined in the amount of
$10,000 for operating a radio station without a license by the Federal Communications Commission. The commission said in its notice the violations concerned unauthorized operation of a station on 91.3 MHz in Orlando. The agency actually issued an initial fine in March. Since Senat didn’t reply to the notice, that’s now progressed to a Forfeiture Order. Senat has 30 days to pay or the case may be referred to the Justice Department for collection.

Scott & Erica Together Again … at least for a couple of hours!     5-10-10
Erica Lee former WOMX-FM 105.1 co-host of “The Scott and Erica Show” on will partner again with Scott McKenzie from 5PM to 8PM on Thursday at "Ember" at 42 W. Central Blvd. in Orlando. Erica, who was fired in January, is campaigning for 2010 Central Florida Woman of the Year. She hopes to help raise $50,000 in 10 weeks for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Nikki Pierce
Takes Over Hosting Duties   5-11-10
WMFE-FM 90.7 has announced Nicole Creston (aka Nikki Pierce) will be the new
local host of NPR’s “All Things Considered.”  Nicole is replacing Pat Duggins who left WMFE after 24 years, to become News Director at Alabama Public Radio. Nicole will handle local news, interviews,  as well as weather and traffic from 4PM to 6PM weekdays. 

Congratulations To Brenda Matthews    5-11-10
Brenda Matthews drops us a note to update us on what she's up to. Brenda's former "hunky builder boyfriend" Kenny Gardner is now her "Hunky Husband". They married on May 2. They "...survived a 3 1/2 year commuter relationship (Orlando to MD), and a motorcycle accident (that left Kenny in the hospital for nearly a month) at the same time that CC held me to that pesky non-compete.  We made it through - and there could be more adventures on the way!  Never a dull moment!..." Brenda also lets me know she's working at NAVTEQ Traffic Orlando, doing morning and afternoon traffic at WCFB-FM 94.5 and WMMO-FM 98.9, as well as 4 other Orlando/Lakeland area stations. She is also working part-time at WOMX-FM 105.

Ben Shapiro Joins WEUS    5-12-10
WEUS-AM 810 has added “The Ben Shapiro Show", to their Sunday line-up, 1PM-4PM.

Shannon Burke To Be Released    5-12-10
Shannon Burke, last heard on WORL-AM 660, will be released today from the Orange County jail. Burke was arrested in May, 2009, on charges related to shooting both his wife and her dog. In November, he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of cruelty to animals (for shooting his dog) and guilty to a misdemeanor charge of using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. Both of which were a violation of his probation. Burke was transferred to Orange County from the Seminole County Jail, where he had served about four months for the shooting. Both, Catherine Burke and the dog have recovered.

WPOZ Is #1     5-13-10
Our good radio friend Frank Reed lets us know that WPOZ-FM 88.3 "...is now #1 12+...I believe this is a first. "...a Christian music station ranked #1 in a top 50 market." Congrats to Jim Hoge, Dean O'Neal and everyone at WPOZ!

Randi Rhodes and Dave Ramsey Join Line-up

WELE-AM 1380 has added Randi Rhodes and Dave Ramsey to the afternoon line-up.

John Boy and Billy Big Show Coming

WHKR-FM 102.7 is excited about adding the legendary John Boy and Billy Big Show to mornings. Michelle McCoy will move to 10AM-3PM and Program Director, Jim Callahan, will move to  afternoon drive, 3PM-7PM. No launch date has yet been set.

Pat Is Back!   5-23-10
Thanks to Rob P. for letting us know that Pat Lynch has returned to WJRR-FM 101.1. He is hosting (his creation) "Hard On Saturday Night" Sat from 9pm-Midnight.

Bill Bokunic, General Sales Manager for the Cumulus Melbourne Market, is leaving Florida to assume the General Sales Manager Position for the Entercom Cluster in Indianapolis. Good luck Bill!

Barry Michaels is in at  WNDT-FM 92.5/WNDD-FM 95.5/WNDN-FM 107.9 joining Hunter for mornings after Richard Dixon moves to WAPI-AM 1070 for afternoons in Birmingham.

Ken Allen, General Manager of WNUY-FM 100.1 in Bluffton, Indiana is packing his bags and is headed to WIXC-AM 1060
as Station Manager.

People Power Hour Expanding   5-28-10
The People Power Hour, with George Crossley and John Hamilton expands to two hours beginning June 1. You can listen from 6PM-8PM on WEUS-AM 810.
