Shannon Returns 8-2-14 Shannon Burke has signed a deal with WRSO-AM 810/FM 93.1 and Cox Media Group's WHPT-FM 102.5 (The Bone in Tampa), to air his own weeknight show on both stations. Burke's new gig begins Monday, Aug 4 at 7PM running until 10PM. |

Clear Channel Adds 2 Translators 8-4-14 Clear Channel Broadcasting has purchased two translators from Reach Communications. Both translators, W246BO 97.1 in Deltona and W246BT 97.1 Clermont were rebroadcasting Christian radio "Reach FM". Clear Channel is re-broadcasting WRUM-FM 100.3 on the Clermont translator. |

Mark Kaye Comes To WDBO 8-12-14 Mark Kaye, morning host at WAPE in Jacksonville, is joining WDBO-FM 96.5 for a Sunday evening program from 7PM-9PM. |

Disney Station For Sale 8-13-14 The Walt Disney Company announced it plans to sell 23 of its 24 stations. WDYZ-AM 990 is included in the sale. The ultimate plan is to move all Radio Disney programming to digital distribution as the target audience is moving to satellite radio and online listening. Broadcasting & Cable reports the stations will go dark September 26. |

Former Station Owner Hal Gore Passes 8-14-14 Thanks to Kris Earl Philips for letting us know that Harold "Hal" Gore of Vero Beach and Sky Valley, Georgia died on August 8. Hal was in the broadcasting business for 60 years. In 1978 Hal established Gore Broadcasting Inc. and owned & operated WROD-AM 1340 and WSBB-AM 1230 among other radio properties. In Memory |

Jonathon, a University of Central Florida alumni, began his radio career as an intern at WDBO in 2011. Later he became a full time reporter. His last day at WDBO is Sept. 5. |
