Congratulations! 9-2-16 50th Annual CMA Awards Nominees have been announced. In the Broadcast Personality of the Year, large market category, WWKA-FM 92.3's AJ Maguire and Ashley Stegbauer ("AJ and Ashley in the Morning") have been nominated. Also, WWKA-FM 92.3 has been nominated in the Large Market Station of the Year category. This year's show will be telecast Nov. 2nd on ABC TV. |

Hank FM Becomes "I Am Country" 9-7-16 WDVH-FM 101.7 formerly "Hank FM" is now known as "I Am Country". WDVH-AM 980 has also been reborn as part of the "I Am Country" brand dropping the talk format. MARC Radio has also put the AM signal on a translator on 94.1 to cover the city of Gainesville. Conservative Talk host Ward Scott is heard in morning drive from 7AM-9AM, then Classic Country for the ret of the broadcast day. |

The Price Is Right 9-8-16 Southern Stone Communications purchased translator W283CF 104.5, located in Ormond Beach. The price was just $10, the seller was Carl Tutera. Looks like WHOG-FM 95.7 will be relayed on this translator. |

Musical Chairs At 2 Cox Stations 9-27-16 Cox Media Group is shuffling the on-air lineup at Country “K92.3” WWKA-FM 92.3 and Rhythmic CHR “Power 95.3” WPYO-FM 95.3 as Obie Diaz slides from mornings at WPYO to WWKA. Diaz makes the rare move from “Orlando’s Only Hip-Hop Morning Show” to Country after sixteen years in mornings at WPYO. He will join Ashley Stegbauer at WWKA starting Monday, October 10. To coincide with that move, current morning host AJ Maguire will slide to afternoons. The afternoon slot has been vacant since JR Jaus departed for mornings at sister “Y100” KCYY San Antonio in March. At WPYO, Marc ‘DJ Nailz’ Dixon rejoins the station to join incumbents Lil Shawn and Estee in mornings. Dixon started his career at WPYO as an intern and eventually moved up to hosting nights. He has spent the past two years co hosting nights at sister Urban WEDR-FM 99.1, Miami. Effective October 10th, the veteran broadcaster will co-host mornings alongside Ashley Stegbauer. Diaz has more than 16 years of morning radio experience, starting at Cox Media Group in Orlando in 1999 at sister station WPYO-FM Power 95.3. With the addition of Diaz to mornings, current morning co-host AJ Maguire will transition to Afternoon Drive on K92.3. |
