WLOQ's John Gross Passes   11-2-11
John Gross, the son of Herbert Gross, who purchased WLOQ-FM 103.1 from Home Security Broadcasting Co. in 1977 for $210,000 has died after battling Lou Gehrig's disease.

Radio Return Unlikely For Erica Lee    11-3-11
The Orlando Sentinel's Hal Bodecker caught up with former WOMX-FM 105.1 morning co-host, Erica Lee. She is now Vice-President of Public Relations and Spokesperson with a company called with a company called Zealthy. She told Hal about a return to radio; "The longer I was out, the harder it was for me to imagine getting back in." The only thing that would appeal to me would be going back with Scott."

Jana Moves Up     11-4-11 
Jana Sutter Assistant Program Director/Music Director/Mid-day Host at WXXL-FM 106.7 will add duties as Assistant Program Director for sister station WMGF-FM 107.7 as well as voice track nights on WMGF.

Slats Moves On     11-4-11
"Slats" (Tim Guinane) is headed to Cleveland to take over mornings at  WNCX-FM 98.5 beginning Monday, Nov 7. Congrats Slats!

Doc Replaces Ed Tyll     11-7-11
Ed Tyll has left WEUS-AM 810 for a new career as a teacher. Doc Holliday, Orlando radio fixture, takes the reins of the mid-day show. Doc had been heard in the evenings.

Steve January On The Move   11-8-11
Long time Central Florida broadcaster Steve January has joined  WRMQ-AM 1140 "Rejoice 1140AM". Steve handles mornings from 6:30AM-11AM. Steve had been with WOKB-AM 1600 between 1993 and 2010,  wearing all the hats as Program Director, Morning Show Host, Sales Manager, General Manager and Production Manager. Starr Is Out At 102 Jamz    11-9-11
WJHM-FM 101.9 Program Director, Victor Starr has left the building. WOMX-FM 105.1 Program Director, Bobby Smith will be the interim PD until CBS finds a replacement. Victor was brought in from WPGC-FM 95.5 in Washington D.C. in April of 2010.

Former WDBO-AM 580 news reporter Robyn Walensky has a book out on the Casey Anthony trial.  The book titled;  "Beautiful Life? The CSI Behind the Casey Anthony Trial & My Observations from Courtroom Seat #1." Readers will read first-hand accounts from the crime scene investigators and detectives at the Orange County Sheriff's Office who investigated the disappearance and death of 2 1/2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony.

Mix 105.1 extends Contracts    11-29-11
CBS Radio and WOMX-FM 105.1 has announced that morning talent Scott McKenzie has signed a multi year contract extension. At the same time Program Director Bobby Smith has also announced that Morning Show producer and cohort Jay Edwards has also signed a new multi year contract.
