If you are looking for oldies from the 50's and early 60's, tune in to WPGS-AM 840 on Saturdays from 1AM-4:00PM and 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm and Sundays 1PM-4PM with a replay at 8PM-1PM. WPGS-AM 840 will stay with Talk Star as  the soft launch of Reminiscing Radio will premier on 840 am. WPGS will Split its time with Oldies and Talk Radio. Music will be more prevalent on the weekends and weeknights after 4pm. WPGS also streams their broadcasts on the internet.

Sgt. Jim Humphries
Killed In Accident

Retired Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Jim Humphries died Monday from injuries suffered in a car accident. Humphries spent 27 years at the Highway Patrol before retiring in 1980. He helped create a weekly television program called "The Law and You", which addressed local law enforcement and community issues. He also did daily traffic reports on WHOO-AM 990

Mark has been delivering the latest breaking news on the search for missing Orange County toddler Caylee Anthony who has been missing since the middle of June. WDBO-AM 580's Drew Petrimoulx has been on Fox's 'On the Record with Greta Van Susteren' discussing the case.


Guns For Shoes And More

An annual event called "Kicks for Guns" kicked off today at three locations in Central Florida. "Kicks for Guns" was created 10 years ago by WTKS-FM 104.1 radio host Russ Rollins, and the "Monsters" who was concerned about increasing gun use among youth and a spate of beatings and killings over brand-name sneakers. The program continues at three locations,  this evening from 4 to 8 p.m. No questions are asked, and all unloaded guns will be accepted.

“Volusia Citizens Forum” heard from 4:30 to 6 PM on WROD-AM 1340 heard weekdays is a new call-in talk show, produced and hosted by Holly Hill Mayor Roland Via. and the guests are the newsmakers and politicos of the local area in an informative format. The host and producer has over seven years of radio and TV experience.

It's not often I bring up New York radio, but Chris Russo who began his career at WKIS-AM 740, and has been on WFAN-AM 660 there for the past 19 years as half of the "Mike and The Mad Dog" sports show. Thanks to "Mike in NYC" for the info.

WELE Brings Imus To Mornings

"Imus in the Morning" joins the morning line-up on WELE-AM 1380. The Imus show replaces Gary Colombo's "Good Morning Coffee Club".

WDBO-AM 580's Drew Petrimoulx has been on Fox's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren" discussing the case. 
WFLF-AM 540's and Florida Radio Network's Rozzie Franco has been a top source of information for Greta and Geraldo since day one of the case. She has been working her morning shift and covering the late Fox news shows as well.
More Central Florida Radio folks have been seen on CNN's "Nancy Grace" program. WDBO-AM 580 reporters Marva Hinton was on as well as WDBO's Nicki Pierce.

Tuddle Gets His Own Show

WTKS-FM 104.1 is debuting a new talk show hosted by Monsters intern known as Tuddle.  The show is known as "Tuddle Talks" and will be a live call in show and promises that no calls will be screened. The show is the latest attempt to revive the 7PM to Midnight slot that has been used to replay "Best of" The Monsters In The Morning" show.  The 7PM slot has been vacant for a couple of years, after Drew Garabo left the slot to join WOCL-FM 105.1. Since then, the slot has been filled with music and then replays of The Monsters among other programs. Tuddle has been with WTKS since 2000 as an intern and producer on various shows. 


The Joke is On Us

Well the WTKS-FM 104.1 "Monsters" pulled one over on us and lots of other media folk with the release of "Tuddle Talk". It seems this was just another stunt by the guys, and we all fell for it.  The truth of the matter is Jason "Buckethead" Bailey will be taking over the evening slot on Tuesday, September 2.
