"Kicks 4 Guns" Expands 8-18-10 Central Florida law enforcement agencies will give away gift cards to citizens who turn in guns Friday during their annual "Kicks 4 Guns" program, hoping to get firearms off the local streets. The program, was started almost 12 years ago, by WTKS-FM 104.1's Russ Rollins the host of the "Monsters In The Morning". Nine Central Florida Law Enforcement agencies will participate this year. From 7AM until 7PM on Friday, anyone can turn in guns anonymously at locations throughout Central Florida. Police purchase gift cards from money seized in felony crimes, offering up to $50 in free gas and merchandise from Wal-Mart, Target, or other stores. Shoes, which were called "kicks" when the program began, are still available at the Orlando Police department's event.
