Moran Is Leaving The Building     8-4-17
WPCV-FM 97.5 morning co-host Melissa Moran will be leaving the station on August 9. Melissa will be focusing on her voice-acting and voice over business. Melissa came to the station in 2008.  

WRGO Becomes WXCZ       8-4-17
After being sold to WGUL-FM Inc. (Betty Marcocci and Steve Schurdell) WRGO-FM 102.7 has changed call letters to WXCZ. The format remains Classic Hits.

WPUL Looks For Extension       8-12-17    
WPUL-AM 1590 owner Glenn Cherry has applied for an STA to operate until he can find an alternate site to enable it to return to the air by August 21st as required to retain its license.

Hungry For Hip-Hop      8-13-17
The third annual, three-hour “Hungry for Hip-Hop” concert presented by WTKS-HD2, “104.5 The Beat” will take place on Aug 24. “Beat” on-air personality Viva La Koi will host. Proceeds will benefit Pathlight HOME, a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing and economic opportunities to Central Florida’s homeless.

Classic R&B Comes To WNTF    8-17-17
Bithlo's WNTF-AM 1580 has returned Classic R&B to Central Florida. Comedian "D. L." Hughley is heard from 3PM-7PM weekdays.

Mark Logas In For Bud Hedinger     8-17-17      
Mark Logas will be substituting for Bud Hedinger on "Good Morning Orlando" on WFLF-102.5-FM/AM540 on Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23. Mark will talk about the situation in Charlottesville from the perspective as someone who once ran the NBC television affiliate’s newsroom in that town and what he encountered in dealing with city government and race issues. Mark will reunite with special guest Carole Nelson, Central Florida radio/television news pioneer, after working together over 30 years ago at Channel 6. They’ll be talking about what it was like for Carole to set the standard as the first radio/television female news reporter and anchor in the City Beautiful. Sgt Kim Montes will also join Mark on Tuesday to share important information about new traffic laws and what to do if you are involved or witness a hit-and-run or road rage incident. On Wednesday, Bishop E.W. Jackson, a Black civil rights leader, joins Mark to share his support of President Trump’s position that both sides are to blame for the violence in Virginia and UCF College Republicans’ President Karis Lockhart will detail how the largest university in Florida doesn’t practice what it preaches in regards to free speech and tolerance. Listeners are always welcome to call in and share their opinions on the “50,000 Watt Front Porch”.

Today Was The Day      8-17-17
Today around 12 Noon, Radio Training Network, which purchased WDVH-FM 101.7 from MARC Radio Group, for $230,000, made the switch from "I Am Country" to Christian Adult Contemporary "Joy FM".  WKZY-FM 106.9, owned by Marc Radio, flips to "I Am Country" playing classic country simulcasting WDVH-AM 980/W231DH-FM 94.1

WNZF Seeks STA     8-21-17
Flagler Broadcasting has requested Special Temporary Authority for WNZF-AM 1550 to use it's 1,000 watt auxiliary transmitter while it's main transmitter is replaced or repaired.

Mick Dolan Joins "Bud 94.1"       8-23-17

Bud 94.1, Orlando’s King of Rock, has announced their first air staff member, veteran Orlando rocker Mick Dolan.  Mick spent years at Orlando’s legendary WDIZ-FM 100.3, WJRR-FM 101.1, and WLOQ-FM 103.1. Mick joins Bud 94.1 from Salem Media Group where he did news and traffic reports.

Mike Tuck Guests With Bianchi       8-23-17
On Mike Bianchi's "Open Mike" from 6AM-9AM on WYGM-AM 740/96.9FM, Mike Tuck will be the guest tomorrow, Aug 24. 

Kevin Fennessy Passes      8-23-17
Broadcast Professional Kevin Fennessy passed away on August 14, after suffering a stroke and additional heart problems.

Antenna Change At WMFE          8-30-17  
WMFE-FM 90.7 is about replace its 37 year old antenna beginning today.  HD-1 (90.7-1) news channel and the HD-2 classical music channel (90.7-2) will be off the air during the changeover. The process will take three to four days.
