Hungry For Hip-Hop 8-13-17 The third annual, three-hour “Hungry for Hip-Hop” concert presented by WTKS-HD2, “104.5 The Beat” will take place on Aug 24. “Beat” on-air personality Viva La Koi will host. Proceeds will benefit Pathlight HOME, a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing and economic opportunities to Central Florida’s homeless. |

Mark Logas In For Bud Hedinger 8-17-17 Mark Logas will be substituting for Bud Hedinger on "Good Morning Orlando" on WFLF-102.5-FM/AM540 on Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23. Mark will talk about the situation in Charlottesville from the perspective as someone who once ran the NBC television affiliate’s newsroom in that town and what he encountered in dealing with city government and race issues. Mark will reunite with special guest Carole Nelson, Central Florida radio/television news pioneer, after working together over 30 years ago at Channel 6. They’ll be talking about what it was like for Carole to set the standard as the first radio/television female news reporter and anchor in the City Beautiful. Sgt Kim Montes will also join Mark on Tuesday to share important information about new traffic laws and what to do if you are involved or witness a hit-and-run or road rage incident. On Wednesday, Bishop E.W. Jackson, a Black civil rights leader, joins Mark to share his support of President Trump’s position that both sides are to blame for the violence in Virginia and UCF College Republicans’ President Karis Lockhart will detail how the largest university in Florida doesn’t practice what it preaches in regards to free speech and tolerance. Listeners are always welcome to call in and share their opinions on the “50,000 Watt Front Porch”. |

Antenna Change At WMFE 8-30-17 WMFE-FM 90.7 is about replace its 37 year old antenna beginning today. HD-1 (90.7-1) news channel and the HD-2 classical music channel (90.7-2) will be off the air during the changeover. The process will take three to four days. |
