WROD Returns To Air    9-2-12
After a few weeks off the air due to transmitter problems, WROD-AM 1340/FM 104.7 has returned to the air. Unfortunately, the Internet stream is still down due to changing Internet providers. On Mon, Labor Day, Cadillac Jack will be on the air from 10AM-2PM with an All Request Labor Day Special. 


Movin' On Up     9-3-12
Marc Radio Group in Gainesville has announced that WTMG-FM 101.3 Program Director/Afternoon host Russ Allen has been promoted to Director of Programming for the entire Marc Radio Gainesville group of stations. Allen will program WTMG, WHHZ-FM 100.5 and WTMN-AM 1430.

Birthday Wishes Go Out This Week To...      9-9-12
Doug Douglass, an early contributor to this site, who celebrates today. Bob Kelley, twenty year veteran at WLOQ-FM 103.1 turns 61 tomorrow. WMEL-AM 1300's John and Vernon Harper blow out the candles on Tuesday and Rick Morton of WRKT-AM 1300 fame does the happy dance on Thursday. Happy Birthday to all of you.

Marc Bernier's Town Hall Series Returns     9-10-12
Katie Pavlich author of  "Fast and Furious" Barack Obama's Bloodiest Scandal and the Shameless Cover Up will be Marc Bernier's first guest of the Fall President Speaker Series. The sit down/audience participation Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, September 12 at  7PM in the Gale Lemerand auditorium in the Willie Miller Instructional Center on Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus, 600 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach. The program is free and open to the public and will be broadcast live on WNDB-AM 1150. Pavlich will sign copies of her book after the interview.

WFLF-AM Adds FM Translator        9-11-12
WFLF-AM 540 has joined the FM translator crowd. Their AM signal is now available on 104.5 FM.

A Star Is Born       9-11-12

The host of "Pavlina's Kidz Place", heard on "Goliath Radio" WELE-AM 1380, Pavlina Osta has now filmed a new pilot in partnership with PBS.  The show, currently in post-production, is called "Pavlina - On The Go".  The pilot will be released soon in hopes to garner wide ranging attention so as to become a permanent fixture on PBS. At  9 years old, she was the youngest journalist that I Am Entertainment magazine had ever seen.  This summer, Pavlina,  was awarded a full scholarship to attend GRAMMY camp in Nashville. Now 14, On her weekly show, Pavlina interviews celebrities and newsmakers.

WHOO-AM 1080's David Baumann, Mike Tuck and
WHBO-AM 1040's Dan Maduri have been recognized as members of Radio Ink Magazine's prestigious "35 under 35 Radio’s Rising Stars" list.  Radio Ink’s "35 under 35"  is compiled each year to discover and recognize 40 of the best and brightest men and women aged 35 or younger working within the Radio industry today.   Candidates come from stations that have a demonstrable impact on the industry. Finalist are selected by a panel comprised of Radio Ink editors, publishers and industry professionals.

Bobby Mitchell celebrates twenty years at WWKA-FM 92.3 on Sunday and Paco Lopez cuts the birthday cake on Sunday. Congratulations and Happy Birthday guys! 


Len Shackelford Has Left The Building     9-22-12
WWKA-FM 92.3 Program Director Len Shackelford has left the station. Len was also the Operations Manager for the Orlando cluster. Drew Anderssen, WDBO-AM 580/FM 96.5 Program Director, is handling the programming at WWKA until a new PD is named. 


David Soucie Next Guest With Marc Bernier      9-22-12
Marc Bernier's next guest in the Town Hall Series will be the author of  "Why Planes Crash", David Soucie. Arbitron Re-ranks Markets        9-26-12
Arbitron ratings service has re-ranked two Central Florida markets. Gainesville/Ocala drops from #85 to #89, while Daytona Beach moves from #92 to #94. 

Steve Church Passes     9-28-12
Steve Church, engineer, entrepreneur, talk show host, and founder of Telos Systems and the Telos Alliance, has died in Cleveland, on September 28, 2012. He had brain cancer. Steve was born in San Diego, California. Prior to his founding of  Telos Systems, Steve worked at WMEL-AM 930 between 1973 and 1975. Steve is survived by his loving wife Lana, stepson Dimitri, mother Jacqueline Burgess, and brothers Brent Church, Dann Church and Todd Church. He was 57 years old.

The FCC has deleted the WINV-AM 1560 call sign and license as of September 2012. WINV was located in Inverness.

Former personality at WFIV-AM 1080, WJPB-AM 1220, WHBO-AM 1040 and WHOO-AM 990Rick Chamberlin has died after suffering a stroke at the age of 61.
